Deposit Not Honored at MSRP
14 months ago, I left a deposit for a new ZO6 and received a contract that stated "subject to pricing" because - - as I was told - - pricing and specs weren't even available yet. I was verbally told that the car would be delivered at MSRP, and was told the same when I placed the order for the car in December, 2005.
Now, I'm told that they can't deliver the car to me without a $10,000 premium because they could easily sell it at auction for $15K over sticker (I don't believe this) and there are people lined up who would be happy to pay a premium (yes, I do believe this, but they didn't leave a deposit 14 months ago!).
Has anyone had a similar experience with delivery of their car and, if so, have they successfully fought to get delivery at sticker?
While I have always held a healthy skepticism for the integrity of certain car dealers, I am nevertheless shocked at this dealer's greed and lack of integrity. Call me naive.
Thanks,
Craig
