The rivets are not a problem, especially with the cheap NAPA rotors. To the best of my knowledge, the pads are also bonded, either way I never had a problem, even when the pads got real thin and cracked. No chunks ever came loose.
Yeah, this is my first go at XP8's. I have run 12/10's in the past. The problem is that with street tires I get no pedal feel under braking - all four wheels go directly to ABS in heavy braking zones. In fact, my brakes have been hotter using my current set of Hawk HPS (which are too weak even rolling on street rubber) than my prior set of XP12's by almost 100 degrees. I've also improved my lap times by dialing the braking torque spec backward.
