Like many here, I cannot afford the new ZR1. But that won't stop me from having an opinion!!

It looks like it was designed by a 22 year old (I know, it was). The clear window in the hood is a joke. The carbon fiber roof needs to be painted. The ground effects look tacked-on. For the most part, I'm not impressed with the design fluidity, or lack there of. However, I love the grey paint. I've always wanted that color on the C5 Z06. Also, the rims look good as well.

The alleged curb weight is a bit of a disappointment. If I was given the choice between more horsepower or lighter weight, I'd choose weight reduction. Unfortunately, it's horsepower that generates publicity and ultimately sells cars. Gotta feed the ego I guess. For $100k+, I still think they could have done amazing things to lighten the ZR1. I would prefer that my next car, whatever that might be, weigh less than my current Z06. Regardless, this car will still deliver amazing performance. I just wish it was lighter.

The carbon ceramic brakes are actually one of the few changes that I can get excited about, even though I HATE the blue painted calipers. I really don't care that it can do 200+ mph. I'd rather NOT have a supercharger; somehow it seems like cheating. The rest of the car doesn't impress me that much either. It lacks that "gotta have it" factor that the Viper ACR or Porsche 911 GT3 RS have. I think other cars will be more satisfying at that price point.

The reality is that performance stats alone don't make me WANT a sports car. The shear appearance is supposed to awaken the soul...inspire. This car doesn't. That being said, however, I'm sure whomever buys it will enjoy it immensely. It really is an incredible car.
