I just wanted to post an update after putting 4K miles on these mods...
The iForged wheels are holding up fine, but now that it's crappy weather time, I've been decided to work out a slight vibration that I'm feeling in the steering wheel. Turns out that one of the front wheels has a little runout in it.
.029" of lateral rim runout & .031" of radial rim runout both on the inside of the wheel. Nothing major, but for the price of these wheels, I want it right. iForged guarantees no more than .020" of runout. I've sent the wheel back and hopefully they'll take care of me.
The powder coating is holding up well. The lips polish up nicely and it's nice being able to buff out blems caused by the tire machine, rocks, etc...
The Advans are performing as expected... a joke at the drag strip (12.9 vs. 11.6 w/ slicks), but decent on the street and suprisingly well on the tiny little auto-x track @ the Z06fest. I got fastest time of the day and I'm proud of that considering the competition.
They grip well on the curvy backroads and communicate well when at the limit. Of course this is the first tires I've tried with the Pfadt coilovers, so I don't really have a reference. I'm sure the coilovers are contributing a good deal to the overall feeling. I've found that leaving the C/R at 8 clicks is just right for me. I did set the rears at 6 for the drags and auto-x to try and get a little more traction.
The ride quality with the Pfadts still amazes me and my front air dam and aprons are about 1" from the ground!
Wheel hop is history!!!
Still lovin' the SLP. The only negatives:
The rear piping will touch the bottom of the fascia when the system is hot. I've had to get under and adjust it a couple of times. Unfortunately some of the plastic melted. It's not noticeble unless you're under the car looking for it.
I think I've got it adjusted right now and there seems to being just enough of an air gap to prevent further damage. All of this can be avoided if you pay particular attention to this when you first install the system. Be sure to push the "over the axle" pipes as far forward as possible.
The 1 pc aluminum tip gets a little hazy after some use and it seems impossible getting it back to it's original shine. I've tried wet sanding and a mini powerball. I might just have it Jet Hot coated or powder coated.
The DEPO corners are still good. They get the occasional condensation inside the lens after a wash like the stockers did, but it clears up after the lights are on for a little while.
Anyway, just wanted to follow up and give a review in case some of y'all are considering any of these mods.
