That's funny. I personally make sure a door is open when shutting it. A mechanical assist will do it slowly so as pressure build up in the cabin is minimal. But I did it once with the doors closed and windows up and it was a violent event to get it shut. Afterwards I noticed the weather stripping on the A pillars were "messed up" - hard to explain - nothing bad - just had to be refitted into the seams - took all of two seconds.

Never again has that hatch been closed without a door open. It actually closes and seals itself under its own weight.
