Re: New To The Forums With ?'s
I don't think you can get a more comfortable high performance GT road car. Even the suspension gives you a great ride on good roads.
I have a 2005 coupe with all the goodies, and the seats are heated with full power adjust, adjustable lumbar support, adjustable side bolsters, side airbags, and they're heated.
I got my '06 Z06 with everything on it as well, but the first thing my wife complained about was the lack of power and lumbar support in her passenger seat. To save weight the General left out the lumbar and side bolster bladders on the driver's side (still have full electric adjustment, heat, and airbags). The only thing my wife's seat has is that it's heated and has the airbags - it's manual adjust, and no lumbar/side bolster adjustment.
I got some seats out of an '07 C6 and am swapping the seat covers and putting them in. I've already done my side so it now has the lumbar/side bolster adjustment, and later this week I'll swap out my wife's seat for the full power everything seat - that will keep her a lot happier!!!
I find the seats very comfortable and have done a 14 hour day of driving. Being able to tilt the seat bottom or buzz it back and forth just a little bit makes a lot of difference on a long drive. The heat and the adjustable lumbar support are great - I don't know why they didn't offer full power everything seats on the Z06 as an option (maybe they do now?) but I can drive forever in these seats.
I also recommend the telescoping steering column. On a long trip a little adjustment now and then can make a big difference in comfort.
You can get some real exotic cars that are fairly comfortable, and you can get a BMW, MB, or P-car that will offer outstanding comfort on long road trips, but like you said, for the money you can't beat a 505hp Corvette.
Go for it!!! Get any year you find at a good deal with the stuff you want and you won't be disappointed!!!!!
