2008 Z06 Shift effort into 1/2

Searched a few forums, but couldn't find any mention. On my spankin new 08 Z06, with the shifter in neutral (or 3rd or wherever), significant effort is required to get over to the 1/2 section or line or whatever you want to call it. Once over, it shifts into 1st or 2nd fine, just takes a lot of effort to get lined up.

Compared to pushing from neutral into the 5/6 line, pusing into the 1/2 line takes probably 3-4x as much effort, it feels like the centering mechanism might be too aggressive on that side.

To put it another way, with the shifter in neutral, pushing it to the right is very easy, pulling it to the left is moderately hard.

Wondering if its just me or if its normal.
