I guess you also have to look at the big picture. What is the number of Z06's built and how many has the same problems? (Assuming that the car was not being hot lapped, modified w/ a power added, etc). I'm sure it's a pretty small number or else there could be a possible recall. Of course since the problem is happening to you, then the problem is a whole lot bigger. I agree with It L Go. Unless you plan on having the Z06 forever, the new engine would not matter. Also, when was the last time you were asked if the numbers matched when you traded the car in? As for me, I would take a brand new engine anytime.
