Unintended Acceleration

Well on the way hoem from work yesterday I was rounding a corner and the car went full throttle by itself !

At first I thought the car was sliding on grain dust (Grain Silo nearby) then I realized very quickly that I was at full throttle. The ass-end kicked out I corrected and slammed the brakes, pulled the E-brake (useless) and slid to a stop against a steel post.

Overall the damage is not too bad. Right front turnsignal now resides with the brake cooling duct, and creased the front fascia just below the headlight door.

I filed a complaint with the NHTSA this morning.

The cop was looking at the accident and after we got aquainted and he realized I wasn't drunk or a crack head started joking a bit. He said you ain't fooling me ! I told him if I did that on purpose you think I would have called you ?

Anyway, the car was flatbedded to my local dealer and awaiting estimates.

Anyone heard of this before ?
