Are you asking what it does? It won't allow you to shift into any other gear other than fourth when the ecm summons it. You can shift into any other gear after shifting into fourth. It's basicaly just an annoying electronic nanny.

You can go with a tune or the CAGS defeat to get rid of it. I like it better removed because I had to play with it once when I needed a gear in traffic. Feel better with it turned off.

Thanks. I guess after 3 of them (2 C5's one C6) I've been lucky because it's never shifted into 4th on me. I don't drive mine much except to run at the track for some exercise on occasion.
