Re: Low to No Oil Pressure
I had exactly the same experience in my '08 ZO6, also at VIR, during a Memorial Day DE. When the dealer folks did their initial inspection, they said they couldn't be sure without tearing it down, but major engine damage was possible. Well, no kidding, it was knocking, and no oil pressure, so I'm sure a main bearing was gone. I told them not to touch it, and that I wanted a new engine installed at the factory, which is what happened. The whole process took about a month. Seems there is now a dedicated team that does nothing but replace LS7 motors, guess that's both the good and bad news! The end result was totally acceptable, but something is going on with these motors.
