Pitt, for heavy duty drag racing, you might at least consider the SPEC 5 iron disc clutch. It has a high clamp pressure plate and held up for me for quite a while. I did finally blow through it (along with my second tranny) before I went the Turbo-400 route but it did pretty well for a lot of passes with high hp.

for a 383 trapping 129 probably making 500rwhp.. spec 5 is over kill!
the 3+ will hold up just fine at that power level even with severe track launches.

Im around that power as well.. even with nitrous which will put me around 650 and alot of torque I think it will hold just fine.
