Check out the latest car mags, I think it's Automobile for Mar or APR...Porsche has a hair up their collective German but about the Nissan claims. The GT3 ran away from it in like-driver stock testing at the ring. Granted, though, the GT3 is twice the price and the owners half as likely to want to race! The vaunted new limited edition GTR has a whopping 5hp increase. The two best times from the ring are both mfg claimed times, i.e. not reliable. I think Nissan is quitting the hype since the ACR and ZR-1 stole the thunder, no?
I think a GTR in launch mode would make an average driver tough to beat in a Z in the 1/4 unless you are very good. But I also think it will sure enough break a GTR if done enough. I can't believe I actually considered getting a GTR a year ago until I realized they were way over MSRP (not mentioned by any car mags in their "best price" jerk-fest for the GTR).
One poster here mentioned how they would be way less fun on a track than a Z, and after one year in my Z (and owning a modded WRX), I totally agree.
I would love to see one at my next track day...And as I think they are hideous to look at, I think you can figure out why.
