You are right, wheel stud shouldnt snap under normal use, but thats because they dont snap under normal use, they break because someone cross threaded the lug nut on.

I figure thats what they are going to tell you, and thats why it wont be warranty, unless they like you, then they might, or if you take your car there all the time. Who was the last people to have that wheel off?

I wouldnt worry about driving it there, you wont hurt the other studs, as long as you dont plan on an auto-x or something on the way to getting it fixed.

Probably charge you around an hour of labor and whatever the part cost.
