I believe the Hawk Blues or PF90 or 93's are about as "cheap" as you'll find for a real race pad...$140-160. I know the Blues are tough on rotors and have heard the same about the Performance Friction pads. I've used the Blues in the past and have found them very good. Either way, Motul 600 or another high temp brake fluid is neccessary, regardless as to whether you run race pads or a HP+ type pad.
One of my friends is running the SBS ProRace Dual Carbon pads in his Mustang track car and swears by them. Much more rotor friendly, in his opinion. A little pricey, but he's getting really good life out of them.
I like www.bsrproducts.com
Here's a couple of other sites I've used for pads:
www.cobaltfriction.com
www.raceshopper.com
