Just try and stay away from the early 03 Ford 6.0 PSD. My January built 03 Excursion has been a pos since they reprogrammed it last year and my fuel mileage will not get better than 13.2 around town and 14.0 on the highway. The trans is a Ford developed 5 speed auto, not an allison.
Of course the power is simply unbelievable.
They made numerous changes for 04 that make the newer trucks the ones to shoot for.
