I actually dropped my shiftpoints from redline to 5500 rpm and gained mph and e.t. improvement. There's a point of diminishing returns above 5500 rpm in a stock Viper.
I absolutely love driving both cars. I often forget about the hp under-rating in Vipers and think that the new Z is just going to totally destroy the current generation Viper. Assuming both will come in at 500 hp, it'll be a helluva lot closer than most people think. |
I am willing to bet a stock C6 Z will outrun a stock SRT-10.
1) The Z will more than likely use more aggressive gearing
2) It is about 300 lbs lighter
3) It will most likely have a higher top end, so the Z can just keep on going until it is ahead when the Viper gives up
