I'd find it relatively strange that a car a minimum 5+ years old to drop because a new model.
I know each represents the highest performing Corvette of it's time, and ultimately until now all time, but they are very different cars. The Z06 is much closer to a C5 than a ZR1 was to a regular C4. The market for the ZR1 is quite limited and specific, the Z06 was a much easier vehicle to obtain/identify.
