I am in the same boat. Not sure if that boat is sinking yet. About three months ago my local small dealer confirmed that they would get one Z , wrote up the order at that time, and then took my deposit and cashed it the next day.
I was told by a helpful member that my dealer will not have allocation in the first six months of production. A few days ago I had a "meaningful" chat with the sales rep/sales manager and said give me a price and potential delivery time frame or give me my money back. I really like the dealer and their service group and want to buy from them. However, this is a lot of money and I need some type of assurance that I will eventually get the car even if it is next spring. The wait and money saving part is making my wife delerious with joy but, I am a little more needy than she is.....
