Drive them both and see.
Sounds like my story...I currently own both....a 01 Pontiac Firehawk with all options....auburn diff, ta girdle, etc,etc..... I purchased a 01 Z06 in march and NO COMPARISON........The Z is so light on its feet and feels nimble........ I dont think I could choose the F-body over a Vette ever....

But that being said Im fortunate to have both because they feel so different. I dont plan on getting rid of the hawk as it was one of 517 or something for 01 and there was only one other Black Formula with all options.....I LOVE being able to go between both because they make me respect each car that much more......

The F-body is a Modern Muscle Car and the Vette is a Modern Sports Car Marvel..........Its like a chainsaw and a scalpel....they both cut chit up but one does it a little smoother

I am with SMACZ , I have a 200 firehawk and a 02 Z06, no comparision. I love to take the hawk out on weekends to let the loudmouth roar, it is a lot of fun , but my wife won't drive the hawk any more cause the Z just plan outhandles it

I have owned both and I agree w/ all the other responses.... It would take alot to get an F-body to handle as well as a vette. Straight line performance is a different story. The solid axle is actualy good if you're drag racing and bolt on parts have always been cheaper for the f body. There are plent of 10 and 11 sec f bodys around where i live, but none that handle as well as a base model vette. (when comparing two competant drivers)

I have owned both as well and it took a lot for me to come close to a FRC in my 01 Camaro SS. I did major weight reduction and tweaked the suspension to the tune of almost $2k. As you can see now I have a FRC..
