FRC or Z06 for a daily driver?

If you were buying a daily driver, would you choose a used Z06 or a '99 or '00 FRC? I wonder if the ride quality, noise levels, etc. in a FRC are appreciably better than the Z06.

What about any differences in build quality and reliability?

I love the noise that the Z06 makes.

I had a 98 C5 350 hp and got 30 mpg at 73 mph and my Z06 with 405 hp gets 28 mpg which is not a significant drop and is a lot more fun. I could never drive it in the winter because they're too severe in WV and with the F1 Supercar tires you have to be careful in rain but I enjoy every minute that I do drive it.

I'd go with the Z06. There are better daily drivers out there than either car, but the Z06 isn't that much different than the FRC. Well.. The FRC is softer riding, but the Z06 is very soft riding IMO for a sports car. Go with the Z06 if money is not an issue.

Have a 99 FRC. That's my daily driver. There's just something cool about being able to drive a Vette, either a Z06 or FRC, to work. Found out that it pisses off the boss, and since I'm just a contractor, that works for me.

I drive my Z every day. I have even driven it through some of the winter. (not recommended - and no flames pls!)

What other car will give you better mileage than a Civic and be quicker than a turbo Porsche?

I love this machine!

Only time I don't drive in the winter is when it snows more than a couple inches. The nose tends to act like a snow plow.

I've cammed my Z06 and still I prefer to drive it over my 02 Impala, 03 GMC slt,04 Pt Cruiser turbo. It is noisy, chattery (spec3),shakey , but it is still everything I love . I've had a 95,98,99,01 vettes, and all were quieter. A Z06 is a Z06, and the extra power should persuade you to buy it over the FRC.( or anything else)

Pride of ownership is a good thing, but I wouldn't be too quick to put down other folks selection of a vehicle. I am really very fond of my FRC, and even though, in most folks eyes, a Z06 is superior to it, I certainly wouldn't trade up. I find that I am very happy with a car that A. Can be made as quick as a Z06 with not lots of money. B. Is considerably rarer than your Z06. C. Is the Grandaddy of your Z06.

For a Daily Driver a FRC would be better IMO.

Forgive me I did not mean to put down anybody's car. I would love to have an FRC, or coupe to drive. I don't care about how rare my car is, because I bought my car to run fast in staight lines They say some Corvette owners are purists who love their Corvettes and would never mod then to the extent some do. I love my Vette ,but to me its just a car that will lose its value like any other car, well not quite, you know what I mean. I drove my Z06 for the 1st time and dumped my previous vette the next day. To me it was a big difference, and very addicting, but like I said I like 1/4 mile drag racing. Thanks for listening to me!!!

After I got my 99 FRC I hardly drive my other cars. My Vette has extensive mods but I still drive it daily. It's not as refined as my other cars but If you find a nice stretch of road it's all worth it. Oh forgot, Z06's are just left over FRC's. LOL
