My 1999 Z06 build in detail!

On May 21st 2005 I purchased a High Mileage 1999 Fixed Roof Coupe.I purchased it despite the miles, knowing what my intentions were for a car with this many miles…Build a 1999 Z06 out of it with as many donor parts that one can come up with.

May 25th- I found my first mod local – 2004 Z06 Wheels and tires with 800 miles on them.Would you believe I sold the factory wagon wheels and tires the same day.

May 26th-New trim installed around windshield wipers-Old was faded

May 28th- Ebay shopping begins-I found a 2001 Z06 Dashpad, 2004 Console, 2004 Radio Bezel, 2001 Z06 Gauge Cluster, 2004 Radio, 2001 Z06 Carpet Front and Rear, 2004 Door panels.

June 12th –New interior parts go in and old parts go on eBay.

June 13th -15th – Time to clean the car really good. I got a full detail at 21st centurymusclecars. What a difference that made .The entire car was Pressure washed underhood, under carriage, wheel wells scrubbed,Subframe cleaned with wheel acid to remove all road grime.

June 15th –Found a much better condition Black hood at 21st centurymusclecars. The previous hood had a few chips from the miles.Installed it after the detail.

June 16th – ordered LPE Cylinder heads,GT-11 Camshaft . I had a set of core heads from a previous build.(Heads and cam should be back by early july)

June 17th- received my original 2001 Z06 transmission back from Rodney at Transmission specialist. This will be going in with new diff. and engine .

June 24th – Take a few photo’s

Drive train will be next month -Swaybars,Shocks,Z06Clutch,Engine,Shifter,Brake Calipers,Pads,Rotors,Z06 Mufflers,Custom Cats and center section mated to Factory Manifolds.-I will keep you guys informed of the progress as we go.
