I went to New Jersey (from St. Louis, Mo) to picked up 1968 Corvette Serial # 0076
Bought ’68 from fellow Corvette Forum member NJ68 (Ralph). First of all Ralph was totally up front on this transaction at all times. He answered all my question immediately and honestly and provided photos and anything else I requested.
Now for my weekend. After deal was struck I searched for transporters but ran into problem when it came to all the EXTRA stuff that came with Vette. To name a few items:
Original perfect 1968 Seats
Original Shroud, fan, fan clutch
Original Ralley Wheels
Original Steering Wheel
Original Radiator
Hard Top
Car Cover
Boxes of any and all parts removed from car
AIM ,Service Manual, Electrical diagrams and many other mauals/documents.
Transporters don’t mess with extras that don’t fit in car. So started looking for a company to box and ship extras. Ralph was starting to research from his end also.
While helping friend with his ’72 Nova SS I mentioned that I was purchasing another Vette and during discussing about transporting situation he says “Hell, lets hook up enclose trailer I bought and have never used and go get that sucker”. So that’s what we did This is easier when both of you are retired.
St. Louis, MO to Hoboken, NJ was 970 mile each way and we did it in 3 days. You do the math. With gas, rooms, food, tolls and snack cost about $700 for trip. Main thing was I got to meet Ralph and kick the tires before we exchanged $$$$ and title.
Here is some photos of this past weekend. ==>
Will have lot’s more photos and info on the '68 as time go by.
Congrats George!!
Another beauty for your ever-growing stable

Reason: spelling
Gorgoeus! Nice ride...Lucky you.....what a great way to spend the weekend.
Well, I missed Patrick's FAREWELL CRUISE (Off to the Sanbox), but then again, so did he. He woke up with a sore throat and a fever and never made his own cruise.
I FINALLY got around to closing out the under dash and kick panels from my TICK Adjustable install. I was just lazy! But I was also waiting on my center console to arrive. (Which arrived 3 weeks ago). So, I got my center console and dash back together and it looks great! No more burning my hand with the scorching hot air flowing up through the open clutch housing.
Linked up with my buddy who just bought a 2006 C6 Coupe with Paddle Shift. It looks really nice. Went to get some pics, but started to rain on us. better luck next week!
Other than that - Just relaxing. Enjoying Kyles pics of the Bay area more than my own weekend.
ps....I hope you don't mistake this for a HIJACK. I thought your thread was asking what we did.....
