OK then, since this guys has no ideas I won't listen to these blogs at all. Thank heavens for joining the site to straighten me out. I would never have guessed.
Maybe I am wrong here but for the C8 to be competitive against Acura, Porsche and the Italian's the car is going to have to be turbocharged, have multivalve heads and be mid-engine, oh and probably be all wheel drive. This is the same thing that happened in the 70's when emission controls and insurance companies forced the big three to change their cars then. In the long run, great things will come out of this, it will create demand for the "old style" cars and the new cars will be even better than we can imagine. The only thing I don't look forward to is all the nanny controls that they will have on the new cars. We now have rev match, electronic rear differentials, radar in the front for collision avoidance, lane drift warning and the list goes on. I want to drive my car how I feel like driving it. The only good thing about all this technology is if you swerve, or start to pull out in front of one of these tech wizards on wheels they will get out of your way so maybe the roads wont be as clogged as they are now with clueless people behind the wheel.
Not a problem; I never drive over 60 mph so I simply stay in 1st gear. Mileage is not always great but the sound is phenomenal.
