How much more power does this unit produce? Does it throw codes like the Halltech TRAP did on my 03 Z06 (went away after being reset a few times). Do you need to have a custom tune for this to work properly? Looks like a real nice add on and easy to install. I'm thinking about getting one but would like some "real world" info before I do. Thanks

About 10-12 hp at the rear wheels. Out of the box.No codes. None at all. Nada, don't sweat it. I did a 20 minute idle relearn after installation. Basically a 20 minute idle in the driveway.
Tuning on the C6 Z will only help. That will be my next mod. The stock tune is way too conservative with heat(I may even do a T-stat swap, before I do Jim Hall's tune). The stock tune with the way it manages heat, and also the "torque managment" is horrible. I burn 93 octane, and also add a gallon or two of race gas (105 octane unleaded), just for the hell of it at each fill up. To this date, I have yet to hear a single 'spark knock'. I know the car will retard timing before I hear anything, but I listen, and to this date, nothing.
The computer with operate within a set of upper and lower threasholds with respect to air/fuel mixture and other paramaters (timing and such). When you make a change to the car (intake, headers) that requires a change from these previously established parameters, the computer needs time to figure out the new deal and configure the adjustments within the allowable threasholds. I've heard that you're supposed to pull off a battery cable to give it a fresh start, but I don't think this is really the case. So I think that the process is just to let it idle before you start pounding on it again.
I'm interested to hear how this turned out. Any actual evidence that it does anything at all? Sound good?

I know the C5's had an idle relearn procedure, but from the info I've got so far, the C6 relearns itself, with a good warm up to temp.
There are dyno results on the internet of this mod. Supposed to be about 10-12 HP. I didn't have one done. No dyno within 75 miles of my area.
But it does allow air to cool off at speed. Which is perfect for the street. Seat of the pants doesn't always yeild E.T. You can however HEAR the engine sucking air into the KB, unlike the stock piece. I'll have headers and a tune soon, so we'll see.
I gotta quit reading this at work, I want a :mug::mug::mug::mug::mug::mug:, but I also want to do the mods, which require money and :mug::mug::mug::mug::mug::mug: Catch 22! Any rich people out there want to adopt me? I come with a 2006 Z, a 2001 Z modded into a 'vert, and a 67 coupe, along with various other 2 and 4 wheel toys. Oh, yeah, did I mention I like :mug::mug::mug::mug::mug::mug::mug::mug:?
