I just bought 3 bottles of Motul 600 DOT 4 racing brake fluid for my next track day, upon much recommendation from friends and other tracking regulars.
However, I just wanted to verify with actual C6 Z06ers -- before I do a full flush -- that using DOT 4 brake fluid in our systems, which are originally DOT 3, is ok? Just been getting a little worried after reading a few online articles that warn against the different compositions and viscocities.

I'm not a C6 Z06erer, but I would imagine that any system that is DOT3 compatible is also DOT4 compatible. The main difference (possibly the only difference) is the boiling point of the oil. I'm 99% sure it is safe for your C6 Z06 but you might want to wait for other responses.
Sorry, I don't know anything about Motul 600 specifically.
Motul 600 is suitable for use in systems requiring DOT 3 or DOT 4. It conforms to FMVSS#116-DOT 4 Motor Vehicle Brake Fluid. It is compatible with DOT 3 fluid.
There are some who warn against using DOT 4 or using synthetic ... personally, I figure that the companies have done their research.
I've been using Motul 600 in my brakes and clutch for 6 years.
You don't *have to* do a Tech II purge; tho C4C5 Specialist says that's the only way to do a complete purge. If, as some recommend as a field expedient, you do a couple ABS activation cycles to run the new thru the ABS reservoir, you still may not get all the old fluid out - the net result is that you will not have a "pure" DOT 4 performance boiling point.

OK ..This does raise the question...are the two fluids compatable...ok to mix them ?? Will there be some bad reaction ?

The fluids are compatible.
I had a full flush with a Tech II done when I went to DOT 4; ever since then it's just bleed and top off ... but I usually run 6-9 bottles of fluid thru each year ...

Thanks Denny .. I could not imagine them not being compatable, but then have no way of knowing. Am not familiar wtih the virtues of DOT4 over DOT 3 fluid, some reference information would be useful and informative.
DOT 4 has a higher boiling point than DOT 3.
That's good.
DOT 4 is also more hydroscopic than DOT 3 (meaning the tendency to absorb water.
That's bad.
That's why brake fluids list the dry and wet boiling point.
DOT 3 will not absorb water as quickly, therefore will stay closer to "dry" rating longer. Fine for a street car.
A good DOT 4 will have a wet boiling point higher than a DOT 3 dry ...
But to keep the performance up, DOT 4 needs to be refreshed more often.
That's why those who track their cars will use DOT 4 ... they bleed at least every track day.
The critical item is the DOT 5 synthetic.......stay away from that item. Or is it silicon??
It's not compatible with other types, does not work well in ABS systems, and will cause you problems.

Correct on DOT 5, because it is Silicon
