Tire Pressure Monitor

Hi, I have a new Z06 with only 300 miles on it. I purchased the car new with 7 miles and the tire pressure monitor is not working and has never worked to my knowledge. I receive a message that says service tire pressure monitor and the the yellow dummy light is always on. Dealer wants to tear apart dash to replace the receiver. I am not thrilled about having the car taken apart and left with dealer to do so. Any suggestions? Thanks! Randy

Re: Tire Pressure Monitor

If the DIC doesn't display pressure for any of the tires, and the Dealer has tried to retrain the system, then their diagnosis is probably correct and it's the receiver module that's at fault.

The way the receiver works, if it can receive for one then by definition it can receive for all. So if at least one tire does read out on the DIC, then the receiver is working and the problem is one or more of the wheel sensors.

Re: Tire Pressure Monitor

I would also check the fuse. I suppose the dealer did that? If it's good then let him replace the receiver. It's not that big of a deal to get the dash off. Well, for most folks.

Re: Tire Pressure Monitor

If OnStar can read the tire pressures, the problem isn't with the RFA Rx!
