I kind of figured that you went to different sizes as I did not see anything in a 17 that came close to stock numbers. I will check them out at the fest.
What wheels did you get?

So for an 07 z what's the smallest rim u can put on the rears for a better gripping strip only tire? 18"? 17"? Will 335's fit on the back? For a street tire? Looks like tires come down to tastes in women, everyone has there preference, lol

Seems like there as many tires as there are posters.
I just had Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Pole Position RFT's installed which are run flats. My reasoning for getting them is that reports say they are quieter and have longer wear than the Goodyears. Many feel they are better in heavy rain. Cost was $1,750 for a set of 4 for my 2007 Z.
Just fitted a set of Toyo Proxes R888's, 265/35ZR18's up front and 295/30ZR19's on the rear on replica +1" chome rims. The grip level is far superior to F1 SC's.
BUT, it's not a daily driver and I've got no intention of driving in the wet (don't think they'd perform so well).
When you add a tire to this thread, please include sizes and the Uniform Tire Quality Grade (UTQG) information and how the car is driven (i.e. daily driver or not). The tire you select needs to suit how the car is to be driven.
Examples (based on 295/35R18) of UTQG information:
Generally a tire with a lower number will have a higher grip level and shorter life.
A street tire for a car that will be tracked is a waste of time. Similarly, a DoT slick will be hopeless in the rain, but will stick like $hit to a blanket in the dry, and then there are run flats... So many options!
I drive my C5Z 1 or 2 days a week, and plan to "track it" soon. I don't want a run-flat (I will get it towed if I get a flat) and I am not really interested in wet weather performance (as I don't drive it in the rain). Hence my choice: Toyo R888s.
Just my 2c...
(My apologies if are any errors in the above, I took them from many sources, so there may be some "cut and paste" errors.)
I agree with all of you about the Firestones. I bought mine about 5 years ago; I'm 100% street driver and I do hotrod it a good bit, but no track work. These things wear like iron. This is my sixth season (coming up in May) and they're still in great shape. I paid $900 out the door, and am pleased with the investment.
Just checked the prices, and they are about the same price as 5 years ago. Hard to believe. Also looking at the Bridgestone Potenza's, but the Firestones will be hard to beat.
Only thing I can can say is that the rears on my 01 Z06 are a bit noisy at freeway speeds, but I just turn up the stereo a bit louder. They're also pretty good in the rain!!
I currently have the Potenza RE050A Pole Positions and they are terrific, both on the street wet/dry, as well as on the track (which I do several times a year).
However, from what I've heard and read around other enthusiasts, I'll probably be going with Michelin PS2 ZP's next time round.

I have NT05's and like them a lot better than the Goodyears! Haven't tried any other tires on the car though. I have always had good luck with Michelins and wanted to try them next.

Ultra-high performance. Z-speed rated.
I like the look and the tread pattern. HOwever, it is a W rated tire, not Z; but that doesn't really matter. It is the difference between a max speed of 168 vs. 186, so it is essentially irrelevant.
Also, the UTQG rating at 380 is excellent....should give good mileage performance, which translates into several driving seasons (unless you do regular burnouts, I would think).
