New to Z06Vette.com, want to say hello and need advice.
Hello everyone, I just signed up to Z06vette.com after lerking around for a while, its about time since Ive had my 2002 torch red Z06 for about 4 months now. As I said, I am a proud owner of a 2002 Z06, which I picked up in really great shape with about 87k miles and am loving every minute since. This car is also my first vette, and coming from a 1998 Z28 m6, its a totally different animal. Which is were I need advice in, since after taking the Z06 to the local 1/8 mile, and destroying my best time with my Z28 at said track on my first try, it just dident feel right, the wheel hop was horrible and I decided that I was not going to pursue going any faster at the drag strip. I still have my Z28 so ill leave the strip to that car.
However, I have registered to my first autocross event, which will be this coming saturday, so Id like to know any advice that may help me since I have to real road racing experience. what should I expect? How should I prepare? what should I bring? any advice in general about autocross or anything a new Z06 owner should know would be greatly appreciated.

Couldn't agree more!
The Z06 is a terrible drag car and should be permanently used as an autox only vehicle!

The first thing I learned is take everything out of your car before you go.
Blue painters tape.
Yes, buy a good quality tire gauge.
Start saving money for tires.
Be ready to work the course.
You can find the rule book for your region at the NCCC website. It covers straight liners along with low/high speed autocross events.
