Anybody wanna buy a z06?

I have to swap my z06 for a more practical ride (unfortunately).

the dealers are giving me trade-in numbers about $25,000. Am I getting lowballed? my z06 is a MY 03 with 29,000 miles in great condition. car has run flawlessly, no warranty work.

Anybody have any suggestions? anybody in the NYC area want to buy my ride?

That sounds low to me, but then again I'm not a dealer. I wouldn't take that in any case. Try and sell it yourself I'm sure you could get more.

That sounds about $10K or so low, so you had better get at least that much off on your new ride to trade it in at the price. Good luck.

A 2003 in excellent condition with 30k miles should be around $41,775 per the NADA online guide. Look at NADA or Kelly Blue Book (KBB) and don't get screwed by the damned a-hole dealers....I'd have gut-punched the f-cking sales queer for offering $25k...that's an insult to you. Make sure you have your numbers in hand and be prepared to leave if they screw with you. Don't listen to their bullsh-it because sales vermin are trained to counter anything reasonable.

They're offering you below wholesale. That is real high miles for a Z06, though. I would think $29K-$30K is about what you could expect. Check out Carmax, they'll buy your car.

the dealers have some sort of wholesaler-auction book that they use. one guy showed it to me. the value of an 03 z06 is about 29k and change, but they deduct 4500 because of high mileage (The book said this too).

also, they say it's tough to sell a vette this time of year.

...remember, the lower you take means the more they make. If they want to play with numbers, tell them that 25K is okay for your car as long as they remove 10k off the top of theirs. Its just a numbers game they play. They are in it to make money, not make friends.

Look, just go to kbb.com. Look at the TRADE -IN-VALUE. That is what the car is worth. That is wholesale book value. That is ALL a dealer will pay you for a car. It dosen't matter if you only drove it to church on Sunday or down the track on Sunday.

Just like you should go to kkb and go to new car pricing. Never pay more that 500 to 1000 over dealer cost on a car.(Never over 500 just depending on the car. If it's hard to get)

By us in South Fla we have one price dealers. What that means is that the sale price is written on the windshield. There is no negotiating. (Price is 500 over dealer cost.)

well, in my case...kbb says the trade-in value of my car is $30,800 (taking into account location and mileage). The dealer will only give me $24,700 for it.

i mention kbb to the dealer and he just laughs at me.

Go to another dealer. Before you leave, laugh in HIS face!

FYI, these are the auction numbes for 2003 Corvette Z06's with between 25,000 and 35,000 miles nationwide for the last three months. It looks like they are lowballing you pretty bad.

Number of Sales Average High Price Average Price Average Low Price Average Mileage Sales Between
2 $33,500 $33,000 $32,500 26,916 7/6/2004 - 10/6/2004

but, are those the retail prices at auctions or the prices that wholesalers are paying dealers for cars? there's a difference.

miles are high.....my 03 has less than 10,000 miles on it.....on corvettes you get punished on value for high miles......seems I didn't drive it as much this year as I did last year.....oh well...such is life......

EBay is not a bad place to try...I have bought 2 cars and sold one on Ebay......good luck!
