Bad Battery?

I did not run my Z06 for about a month and it had a dead battery. I jump started it and drove it around for about 70 miles and two days later, it was dead again. Anyone else ever had a problem with their batteries, or is it something else? Does the stock Z-06 battery have a fill cap for distilled water? It looks like a maintenance free battery but I can't tell. I don't want to screw it up more.

Any advice? I'd appreciate it. I don't want to bring it into any dealer if I can fix the problem here at home.

Welcome to the site, WC is very close to where I am from and live when I am home from school. The batteries are maintenance free and it sounds like a battery problem to me although I am not super knowledgeable. The only other thing I could think of would be something constantly draining the battery which I have never heard of. By the way, what dealer did you purchase your car from and what did they charge you if you don't mind me asking?

Mr K9: Congrats on your new Vette!

If it were me, I'd take it to the dealer and have them check it out. That's what the warranty is for. They might replace the battery, and you will also have your complaint documented.

Perhaps someone in your area can suggest a reputable dealer.
Good luck.

Hey Guys, thanks for the quick response to my questions. I will definitely bring it back to the dealer since it is only 4 months old. I had a trickle charger on it, it said, "full" so I drove it around town. When I came back, I tried to start the car about 15 hours later and it was dead again.

To answer your question Bad Blue, I paid 48,300 at Anderson Chevrolet in Los Gatos. It was an 80 drive from Walnut Creek to get there, but worth it. Parker-Robb in Walnut Creek offered to sell me theirs for 49,800. With the extra money I saved going through Anderson (salesman Joel KIm), I got the chrome Z06 wheels. If I had one piece of advice for a future buyer, I'd say, don't buy the extended warranty that I got. I paid a huge price ($2500) for a 84 month warranty , $50 deductible....I don't even think that I will have the car that long! Go Figure...

I meant 80 "mile" drive in the previous reply. Also, I registered in this web as a Quick Silver, but my car is actually Black/Black.

Welcome to our site! Your problem doesn;t sound right to me. My Zee may sit for a month before I drive her around town, but she's always ready to crank over and GO! Remember that the alarm uses a bit of power too. Bill
