SOLD! It was perfect and it just screws on. If you want one like it, West Coast Corvettes has them.

Whats the diameter

I was wondering what the diameter is. I really like this knob and left a message with West Coast to please call me with the Diameter. No phone call back.

PS what knob did you go with now?

I have one of these, Black anodized, in my 02QS.

I like the look of the knob a lot, especially because it's got the machined and embossed Z06 logo on the top. But, the two machined grooves around the upper part of the knob have fairly sharp edges that I did not particularly like. Also, it gets *HOT* sitting in the sun (like, too hot to comfortably handle, like, light up a cigarrette hot, like MC Hammer says: "Can't touch this").

I fixed these problems by going down to my local hardware supply store for two 1.25" diameter, 3/16th O-Rings. Now, an O-Ring sits in each of the grooves, protruding out by a little more than 1/2 the diamter of the O-Ring cross section. They stay in snugly, no tendency to move or come out of the groove.

This covers up the sharp edges of the grooves *and* gives me a way to touch the knob when it's really hot, without having to apply balm afterward.

I just found the knob to big to grasp properly, so I switched to the Delrin hardbar, it is sweet! I have a Hurst, when I used the Billet Z06 knob my Hurst was whisper quiet, but now with my Delrin it is somewhat noisy, I guess I can't have the best of both worlds.
