As we are a real community of friends, and not simply an internet sales site, the staff is implementing a new policy on For Sale threads.
Over the last several months we have been besieged with "one hit wonders". Folks who come on and post a For Sale thread as their first or near first post, and then never contribute to the community. To alleviate this practice no one will be allowed to post a For Sale thread until they have made at least 25 posts.
Hopefully this gives everyone a chance to get to know the seller, and hopefully the seller will become part of the community to which they are trying to sell their goods.
This goes into effect immediately.
For Sale posts posted in other forums will simply be deleted by the staff.

I'd feel more comfortable buying from someone w/ more than a few posts. Good idea!

I hope that all will appreciate the fact that we are doing this not just to end the nuisance factor of brand new members signing up on the site just to sell parts or their Z, but also to create an environment that will make it easier for our members to sell their parts or Z's when it comes time to upgrade to a newer vehicle without the site being flooded with one time sellers who tend to disappear after their sale is over.
I think this is a great idea! Is this site setup to automatically block this, or does someone manually have to do it?
It has been set up to do an automatically block in the members for sale section. Anyone posting a sale outside of that section will have their thread deleted by one of the mods or admins, no questions asked!
