Possible F/S--'87 Buick GN

Hey Everyone,
I am seriously thinking about selling my Grand National, just thought I would run it by forum members to see what you all think! Since i got my Z, the car has become a "hanger queen" I think I have driven it 3 times in the last 7 months.
Car is about a 9 on a 10 scale, 38,400 original miles, weld, "street-lite" wheels,,,,skinnies in front, 275-50 T/A's in back,
air shocks in back, driveshaft loop, fuel system upgrade, (boost pump-larger injector tips, 75psi regulator) turbo upgrade-950cfm garrett, I forget the number, Kenne Bell ram-air, stainless dual exhaust system with super turbo mufflers, test pipe with dump,
Art Carr tranny, 3200 stall convertor w/lock-up, full auto meter guage package including tach and boost guage, 3 or 4 different prom chips for the ecm, Still have most of the original parts including original wheels and tires, turbo, torque convertor also have a set of M & H Slicks that haven't been used much,,, brand new hurst line-loc that I never installed, If I sell it, everything goes with the car.
Car is very streetable, gets great mileage and is a definite head-turner, I just had the A/C upgraded to R-134A this past summer. Tranny, cooling system, and fuel system recently power-flushed. I need input as to what to ask for this car, I have seen some on E-bay that are going for peanuts, but they are high mileage junkers! This car is not! Interior is like new, no wear anywhere. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Jim

Can you post some pictures. You're not out of line if this car is mint. I sold mine last year for almost that, however, I did have all the factory components to return it to completely stock. I sold it due to the fact that I did not have enough room for it in the garage after we bought the vette. Don't get me wrong the vette is a superior vehicle, however, there something about an all black car w/ a turbo v-6 that will run or beat big blocks and get 25 miles to the gallon. I guess what I am trying to say is DON'T SELL IT. I regret that I sold ours.

Dave,
I don't have the stock exhaust or air filter system, tossed all that crap many years ago! The car does run very strong. With race gas and the race chip and the M & H tires it would run mid to low 12's all day with the mph well above 110, and that was at PMI which is 4800' elevation.
Main reasons for selling are lack of use and lack of room! I too had to move it out of garage when the vette got here, I just had a small shed built that I am going to put the
Harley's in so I can move it back into the garage and out of my shop where is is just in the way. I also have a Syclone that I bought new in '91 that I will not sell. Wife would kill me, that's her baby! (she loves the AWD)
I know what you mean about these turbo cars, I have had more than a few kills of some pretty fast cars including a few C4
and C5's. There are alot of guys out there that have no idea just how BAD these Buicks are! Guy around here bought a SVT
Lightning 2 years ago and thought it was the baddest thing around, till he came up against the GN. Even with the street tires and the street chip I got him so bad out of the hole that he never came close, and I stayed on it till the end just to embarrass him even more. Now he is a believer! I still rub it in whenever is see him!

Just curious whether it has the stock intercooler, sway bar, shocks, control arms, valve springs and downpipe? Thanks.

Would you trade for an '87 TransAm GTA? In 1987 I was torn between the GTA and a GN.....and went with the GTA 5-speed. I would love to own a GN at some point in my life just so I can say I had both..

Everything but the rear shocks are stock, I put air shocks in the rear to pre-load the suspension and eliminate wheel-hop during the holeshot!

Hi Paul,
Sorry, but I am not interested in getting another car at this point. If you read my earlier posts, I am looking to possibly "thin out the herd" so to speak. Just have too many things to drive, and not enough time for all of them! Since I got the Z, I have even been letting the motorcycles sit around more than I like, but damn! I sure like driving the Z whenever I can. Hell, you have one too, I'm sure you know what I mean!
I'd be happy to sell ya the GN though! I am getting a new 'puter next month and a digital camera and as soon as I figure them out I will post some pics of the Buick, and of course my Z.
Best Regards,,,,,,Jim

Depending on how fast you want to move Tony, and how well you market it, I would expect somewhere around 15 to 20k. Shouldn't be a hard sell. I would buy it if I had room! Either one of you guys! Currently have 2 car garage, 4 cars, a sled, a quad, and a dirt bike. As soon as I move, I will be looking.

Tony-Check out the prices at the Barrett-Jackson auction. Muscle cars just seem to be going up, up, and up. A clean 87 Grand National with 29 miles rolling across the stage would turn some heads.

i have a built 87gn, 01 zo6, and s4 as daily driver. i am torn b/t heads/cam for my gn or do it on the zo6? also, if i could do a turbo upgrade to my s4, i would do it i a heartbeat! i like all three cars! if i was going to sell my gn (everything replaced) bolt-ons/turbo/intercooler/fast/ 63k miles, i would ask at least 18k. all i needs arre heads/cam and this buick will do 11.50's all day.
