Stage II TEA 5.3 Heads!!!!

TEA Stage II 5.3 Heads

1. What size and brand are the valves?
Upgraded 2.02/1.55 Ferrea

2. What valve springs and retainers are installed?
Upgraded REV Dual Springs with matching retainers (titanium), seats, etc

3. What are the flow numbers on these heads?
.100 67.2 57.5
.200 140.4 110.7
.300 207.8 168.7
.400 258.2 213.2
.500 287.7 240.8
.550 295.8 248.7
.600 302.6 254.7

4. What is the cc volume of the combustion chambers.
59 CC

5. Heads used approximately 8 months. I bought these for my ’03 Z06 off Forum Member z0sense. He ran them on his ’01 Z06 and has since gone back to stock with the car. I decided to go with the AFR Heads that will allow me to run 91 Octane at a cost of more power. These TEA Heads will run a higher compression (i.e. more power when tuned properly).

6. All gasket material cleaned off. Heads are as new, boxed up and ready to ship!!!

7. I live in Chandler AZ (85226) in case anyone is local and wants to see them in person, or for shipping purposes.

8. $1650 plus shipping.

Weedo,

that seems like a decent price but I'm worried about the 59cc combustion chambers...I would probably have some piston to valve clearance issues with my cam(227/224 reverse split)
can you shed any light?
I would think that would put me at around 11:2-1 on compression ration?

John

I'm not 100% sure. TEA said this setup is great for a N/A car (non-supercharged). There are a ton of guys on LS1tech.com running these Heads with some serious HP/TQ. I think if you want these Heads and are worried, check with TEA to see what they say the CR will end up at. You can always lower it with a proper Head Gasket, no?

uh, the combustion chamber dimensions and volume have nothing to do with p/v clearance. the valves in this head are in the same place as the valves in a 62, 68, or 72cc chamber.

That they're milled 20 thou is what matters, and it matters not with a 227/224 even if you're running 0.610" lift.

these heads will work fine with your cam and stock bottom end.

That's what I was told as well. They've actually been milled .010.

A note from the owner of TEA:

Our Stg 1.5/2.0 heads have outpowered all other CNC head porters in independent dyno testing.

PS. They have the dyno #s to prove it.

regardless of opinions here I know I do not want to run 11:5 compression, also I need to stay with the LS6 casting heads..

Thanks anyway, and I will let others know about your heads, that is a good price!!

I have these same heads. I think that stock they are 61 cc. After porting they are probably in the 63 or 4 cc area.

TEA can tell you the approximate piston valve clearance with these heads. and a stock gasket with that amt of milling assuming stock length pushrods.

When I bought my heads I calculated the CR at 11 to 1.
