That's what I was thinking. As much as I like it, I think I'll pass for now. Especially if ACP is coming out with a new front facia. If its anything like the quality of the Carbon Fiber Hood, I'll seriously consider one of them.

Actually, this is far from the truth. The following is what hammerhead4 posted over there (I'm quoting word for word):
Quote:
That's unfortunate for those of us that understand that there isn't much of a mark-up at all on the Tecstar products. If you're planning on waiting for a 25% discount, I've spoken to two different Tecstar distributors and got the same answer: it's not gonna happen because there's no room to discount even close to that and still make any profit (or break even for that matter). That's why you see everyone selling the products for MSRP. The GP allows us all to at least get just under 12% off (not 10). 12% is much better than paying retail or even 10% when you're looking at this much money.
The GP allows us to save $120.96 off the front fascia (non-fog lamp version) , $139.96 off the front fascia (fog lamp version) , and $140.96 off the rear fascia . Maybe that doesn't matter to you, but to me, everyone dollar counts, and that's the best deal on the market.
BTW, I found out that the main Tecstar company is actually an OEM supplier to GM. That probably explains why it requires 50 to even get this kind of discount. Think of the quantity of products that GM buys on a regular basis from Tecstar. I bet we could get your 25% discount if we had 200 orders. 50 sounds realistic for a public GP given the situation. 200 sounds impossible for a public GP.
So unless you want to buy at around MSRP, everyone please sign up now for the $120+ savings. (I know I want to get my discount!!! )
The GP discount: nearly 12% (not 10% as stated more than once in the above posts).
The 50 unit requirement: set by the manufacturer, not the vendor.
These parts are listed for MSRP by all of the resellers I've seen and there's a reason for that.
This honestly is currently the best and only deal advertised. The savings is $120+, and as mdickie pointed out, that is pretty good. But, if noone signs up, it will not happen.
The GP was done at the request of the Corvette community, and the best possible GP (although not as good was hoped) was worked out with the manufacturer just like all GP deals are done.
If the GP works, it works. If the GP doesn't work, it doesn't, but if it does work, at least it provides a better deal to the public instead of paying full MSRP like you see advertised everywhere.
I just wanted to clarify the above since it was brought up here.

Thats who I was talking about the "manufacturer" asking for 50 units is a polite way of saying no discount .... You could twist this anyway you want but thats MHO...

Okay, sorry. When you said that without context, I assumed you meant the vendor.
I think it's more a matter of how the manufacturer is setup to deal with direct buyers/distributors. Prior to these C5 Corvette products, they've dealt entirely with large volume buyers like General Motors who purchase in huge quantities, so 50 was the extreme minimum, and unfortunately the discount isn't much for that amount. But, it does at least enable some savings to fifty end-customers compared to no GP at all.
I assume you are the vendor ...If you are I spoke with you about getting the front and rear about 2-3 months ago in fact you sent me a quote. If i am not mistaking the rear fascia comes with the euro lights ...how much is the rear without the lights...and will stock lights fit in there
I had put it on the back burner ..until I do magnacharger install.
Thanks

To answer your first question, yes, I work for the vendor. How do I put this politely... this is my personal membership and the vendor isn't yet setup to advertise here, so I can not talk about specific business like that. As noted above, my original response to this thread was meant only to clarify the above since there was an active discussion about it going on. Sorry, I can't help you here in regards to your other questions.
