Valentine V1 1.8

It doesnt come with hardly anything. Its the unit, and the coil cord as well as the 12v lighter plug. It does work as seen in the photos. I paid 370 shipped for it off of ebay (Ebay Item # 5876190175). I didnt know that it wasnt going to come without the windshield mount until I had already won the auction. So therefore I went ahead and order a new unit. It should be Tuesday, so I am putting this up for sale with NEXT DAY SHIPPING for 370 Via Paypal, so I am losing 25$ on this. It doesnt have Euro Mode nor 2 Band Pop. Its an older version of 1.8. Also the guy gave a false serial number and didnt tell it in the auction. The serial number is scratched off.

If the things works at all to you liking, you can buy the windshield mount or visor mount from Valentine for 10 bucks.
For another 10 bucks maybe not such a bad deal? I know it sucks that the seller wasn't upfront with you, but at a place like that, its the chance you take. Good luck.

This sounds like a stolen unit - why else would the S/N be scratched off? BTW - Valentine has an program where for a much smaller fee than you'd pay for a new unit where they'll upgrade the software - or even change out the unit completely. I've done that twice. (Too add POP is $75, for example.) But they will not accept a unit with an S/N that's been removed.....

This is a really old unit since it is much thicker than they've been for the last few years.....

I'd back out of this deal - this guy was not honest - and you can buy a brand new unit right now for only $399 (WITH all the mounts) -and he's asking $370 for this one?

How are you "losing" money? Am I missing something?

i think i would return it to the ebay seller and tell them i want my money back. i would offer to pay the shipping both ways.. if you send that back to valentine for service.. it will not happen with no serial number.. they think it it.... uhhh . :stolen. sorry about your bad luck experience..
i would let ebay offer it.. their policy is no stolen goods..

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...175&rd=1he re is the auction
this guy is a thief !!!!
no paypal.. check only .. overnight. ?
you have no recourse.. if you did paypal. they would go to bat for you.. you must contact ebay..
he has 1oo% postitive feedback.. have you left him feedback yet. ? you could use that as a bargaining chip.. he gave you a serial number.. and there is not one.
you KNOW what that means..

Yes I gave him +feedback already. As soon as I got the package, I left feedback. I did pay with paypal(I had already had the winning bid before he changed the listing), so I really dont know what to do at this point.

I was under the impression that I was getting a BRAND NEW used Valentine, tis why I bought it for 370$. It was all under false pretenses. He gave a serial number that showed up on Valentines website as "You already have our best product".

I really dont want someone to **** my feedback up. Ive had nothing but great experiences with ebay thus far. Should I try to get my money back?

If someone wants to buy it from me and doesnt care about the serial number, just PM me with an offer. Im trying to move this before my new Valentine gets here. I called them a few days before going to ebay for a V1 about their Vacation Items but they were aalready had 6 people before me to get one.

Sounds like the seller on Ebay is a crook.

If you check some of his past dealings, you will see he sells another used radar detector, also an 360 X box.

He's also bought some cables for the X-Box.

I would get in touch with Ebay and let them know what happened.
I'm pretty sure you can change your feedback on him without a problem.

317indy - Now I see what happened - I didn't realize you had already taken delivery of the unit!!!! This guy really is a crook. I'll ask my friends if they are looking for a unit like this - but I don't know how much they'd be willing to pay.....
