VaraRam induction for $319.99 shipped?

That's right! We're offering the VaraRam induction for $319.99 with shipping if you place your order by Sunday evening (3/14).

The VR unit was designed to work best when above 65 Mph. These speeds (65 Mph+) exceed the air speeds created by the motor at wide open throttle on a stock C5 in the air ducts themselves when stationary. They designed the VR unit to build air pressure in the system at low speeds where it can be put to use. This is just one of many reasons behind the VR performance gains that you will see in the real world, on the road or track conditions!

Orders can be placed online or by calling 1-877-4-TBYRNE (1-877-482-9763)

Have a good day,
Tom

I tried placing an order with you guys all last week with VERY POOR customer service. I was just trying to get you to match the $325 shipped from exit 28 and was told the best that could be done was $325 plus s/h. I don't like being lied to. I ordered it from exit 28 today.

I think the problem was that you didn't follow the requirements of our Price Match Policy. That policy is -

_If you find a current lower advertised price that we can verify we will meet it and also deduct 10% of the difference! This applies to most products that we carry and the price has to be something that anyone can view (e-mail and phone quotes don't apply). Just let us know about this when you place your order and provide us with a direct link to the specific pricing. Discounts are not available if you find a lower price after you place your order and this can't be combined with any other discounts.

Note what is in bold type. It says - provide us with a direct link to the specific pricing. You didn't send us a link to the advertised price. You called and asked if we would match this and also said that you didn't have an e-mail account. We usually don't go searching for a lower price but the person you spoke to took your info and said she would work on it. She did this for you and didn't see the $325. price. You were later told this and your reply was that you forgot to tell her that it was in the specials section. So she had to research this again. You were later told that she could only find a price that said $325. (but not shipped). Your reply last week was that you had already purchased one.

So please tell me how you were lied to?

If a customer finds a lower price than we of we ask that they e-mail us with a direct link to that price so it can quickly be verified. We usually don't spend that much time trying to find a lower price for a customer so Julie went out of her way to try to locate this for you. I can't see how you received VERY POOR service.

I'm going to e-mail this to you in case you miss it in the thread.

Thanks,
Tom

the system handles rain very well. Ive driven through countless terrential downpours with mine installed and never had any problems. This is an EXTREMELY well built intake system at a KILLER price, im amazed more people havent jumped all over this.

As for service ive never had anything less than perfect service from TByrne. Ive ordered many things from them for my brothers WS6 and called them countless times with questions about exhausts, intakes, etc. for my Z06 and every time the customer sales rep has been prompt and courteous to EVERY question.

now im just waiting for the B&B Bullets to go on sale again so i can pick up a set.

Dave

Thanks Dave! We are offering 10% off all B&B TriFlo and Corsa exhausts this week. That will be a pretty good discount for the Bullets

I'll be making a customer service call to ss2z06. Everyone keeps notes for calls like this in case we need them for reference. I'd like to see why he felt the service wasn't good.

Is the VaraRam year specific at all? For example, I know the Halltech TRAP is specific to 97-00 and 01+ due to the different size MAF.

Is the same the case with the VaraRam, or do they have some method for compensating for the smaller, earlier MAF sensors?

from what ive noticed in the kit the red coupler unit fit EXTREMELY TIGHT around the 02+ LS6 MAF. I even had to soak it in warm water to get it to loosen up a little before i could slip it over the MAF end. I think with the smaller diameter of the earlier MAFs it should still fit snugly with the supplied clamps. If the fit isnt perfect im sure Tom would be able to get a reducer coupler to make it an exact fit for the earlier models. Im sure he'll comment more on this whenever he gets back on.

The smaller MAF will go inside the neck on the airbox while the larger one will fit flush.

Hope this helps,
Tom

The Vararam site is touting a velocity stack. Is this hype, or does it provide appreciable benefit?

The VR Stack won't do much for top end power (maybe 2-3hp) but it does add to the lower RPM range and improves gain mileage. This has been very popular with the truck guys.
