WTB: 2003 Z06 - also a question on Z06 values

I am looking to buy a (slightly) used 2003 Z06 very soon. So far I have found one owned privately with < 7k miles for 37,400. Should I jump on this, or wait for a better deal?

It sounds ok, but I am really worried about what the C6 will do to prices next month. 6.0L v8 sounds scary, even in non-Z06 trim.

Comments? Any other deals I should know about?

Thanks a bunch.

That's a pretty decent price on an 03. The rest is up to you. Do you want to spend another 20 grand? You know what your getting with the Z. Someone else has already taken the big hit on the $$$. You can always trade up after the hardline prices melt a little on the C6's if your not happy with the 03.
I know what I'd do.

Joe

I agree with Five0Joe, this is a very good price for a 03. However, I'd not be in a big hurry as the new C6 will make it's appearance next month at the Detroit auto show and it COULD make an impact on C5 resell values.
Personally, I'm waiting to see what happens.

That sounds like a great deal on an 03 to me. The C6 is just around the corner;but, the Z06 will be a while!

Thanks much guys! Any more opinions on whether or not this is a great deal / ok deal / bad deal?

Also, are some colors worth more / less than others? I see that the yellow is a $750 option new, but I also see that there are SO many yellows for sale. How is silver as far as resale?

That is a great price for any 03 Z06 no matter what color. Not many Z06's are getting above 40 grand unless they are brand new with 0 miles on ebay.

This is a great time to buy a used one.

Hi Physans...if that 2003 Z is local and you decide against getting it, I'd appreciate the info on it.

Hi Rick,

Sorry, but the seller went ahead and sold it to carmax after I told him I didn't want it. I thought I was getting the blue z06 (in the other thread here), but I missed that, so I missed TWO opportunities to buy a Z06 this week!

Unless a SMOKING deal finds me (which I'm not counting on), I have decided to *completely* give up on buying / searching a Z06. I think it's too big of a depreciation risk with the C6 debuting next month, despite what anyone says. If the interior of the GTO is any indication of the level of fit and finish in the C6, I think the C5s will lose LOTS of value.

Just my opinion. Good luck to all buyers and sellers.
