"Winning bidder must submit a non-refundable deposit in the amount of $1000 at auction end by calling Western Union at 1-800-225-2750 for wire transfer instructions..."
I spoke to the guy at the dealership?, he said he will not sell the car I must bid on it, he said "it is too much hassle"
I'd never do that. I know Ebay is getting very sensitive to this type of thing as it is hurting their credibility and business. Have you asked them about it?
did you hear about the guy that set up on ebay...under an actual dealers name, took photos on the lot had a 1800-# with receptionist and everything. then people sent the down payment and never herd anything. then called the actual dealer they didnt know anything. so the guy got away with alot of different peoples money.

What is the ebay item number? I would like to look at it since I have come across too many scams on Ebay lately. Ebay does not like to address them since it is a strike against them. Usually anytime a seller will only take a wire transfer is bad sign.
Sold.....
If you did this..

I would think it's a legit deal.....
The reason he declined is it's not ETHICAL to sell a car that has been set up on E bay's auction site.( which I am sure you know).
The ONLY way a dealer should do this, is if the auction ends, without the car being sold.
They also "reserve the right to cancel any and all bids at our discretion or end the auction early if necessary and will not be liable for any such cancellation for any reason."
So if the bidding does not go high enough they can just back out "for any reason".
i do not understand why you would want to deal with any of this bullshit when the forum vendors are cutting awesome deals...HOW good of a deal do you expect on a brand new corvette??? honestly.... is 5,000$$ off msrp just nt good enough?

I believe Rick D. was making same offer year end close outs. $5000 off msrp.
Now, I just made my first purchase last night, a Granatelli(sp) CF air bridge. Hadn't heard hide- nor- nhair from seller, as I emailed him. Maybe too zoon?
