Just went by local dealership in Denver who showed a Z06 in inventory per Chevrolet.com.
Sure enough, there was a sweet yellow Z back in service that had just been "sold" for $125,000.00. I certainly offended the salesman with my laughter and my statement "Damn, it's only a Chevy". He also said that there was another MY in transit that they were taking bids on which he thought would be over the $125K.
....anyways...I quickly departed the dealership before I really pissed them off.
My local dealership had Six of them, yes six!....they sold three real fast and the other three are still sitting there. Have not even cared to ask what they want above MSRP for them. Knowing a little about them they are probably close to six figures too, if not six figures..........just a bunch of crap if you ask me but hey if you got that much money to burn whats an extra 50k or so above MSRP.......
People amaze me sometimes. As long as folks want to be the first in their neighbor to own a new toy, stealerships will oblige their want with exagerated prices. The most I've heard a new Z go for was $117,000 which I thought was just plain dumb. But $125,000 Some people have more money than gray matter I guess. There is an old saying that goes something like, " Sometimes the anticipation of owning something is more exciting than the actual ownership."
I wonder how many people who have paid over sticker are now experiencing buyer's remorse?

Give it a few months. They'll be below MSRP. Guaranteed. Just be patient.
thats my bet too.....also, there is no telling what first year problems will show up either.....remember the '01 Z motor with the rings that let the motor consume oil.....who knows what will show up...so I am glad that everyone is buying the first year models....when 2008 comes around they will have the bugs out just like they did with my '03 Z......

Actually, they have an extra (approx) $108,000 or so to burn. The extra $50,000 over to buy it, then the extra 50,000 they just spent that they'll lose the minute it goes out the dealership parking lot, and the 8-10,000 in first year depreciation!
Good for him. I'm glad to see the world is still full of idiots. A year from now unless the buyer is loaded he's going to feel like he just took an around the world trip on a Greek Vasoline Tanker.
Hey!!! I'll sell my upcoming Z06 for $125,000! Not that there are any fools on this site of course! But if anybody knows a fool that wants it bad enough....

There was one sold here locally for $89000 and I thought that was ridiculus. I met another guy that commented he got a great deal paying only 3K over sticker
I already heard a rumor of one selling for 3K UNDER sticker...
And more may come. I was also told there are about 10 sitting in dealers in Texas, soon to be discounted if no one buys....
Maybe Texas people can chime in.
