Call from UFO dealership

I answered our phone and looked at the caller ID it said Private Call. So I answered and some guy said my name and his whom I don't even know that he had a new Z06 coming in to some dealership he mentioned. He sounded like he had a mouth full of shiX so it was hard to figure out what he was saying. One thing I was able to make out was he had a low IQ.

He said just a 28 day order to delivery date. So fucXing what I said. What's the price? MMMMM I can't say right now.

I'm so turned off right now with these guys googing so many corvette loyalists it's driving a lot off us away for now. Some are keeping their C5 Z06's or buying better ones.

$104,000 06 Zo6

I'll keep my 03 ZO6 after a trip to Bill Heard here in Houston.
They wanted to sell me the new 06 Zo6 for 30 over sticker and only give me 28 for mine. I asked them what are you guys smoking because I want some. They were only giving me
28 for mine because I have a Pro Charger on it. I hope they starve.

These new Z06's are not going to be a collector or exotic car. Can't blame the dealerships for their greed they know there are village idiots out there that will have the bug and buy. Let's see what the value of these $20,000.00 over MSRP cars are going for next Thanksgiving. Remember as soon as you drive off the lot you just lost at least 10%+ in value. I'm happy for the new buyers but patience will prevail.

The one in Sugar Land? They are a joke period. In 1996 I was searching for a new SS camaro and they had an extra 16,000 added to the sticker price. They ALWAYS have at minimum 10,000 added to their stickers. Then they start taking thousands off of that to make you think your getting a deal. Die @ss*** die....oh ok I'm better.

First my local dealer screwed me out of my new Z order and now I am dealing with "greed" of many local dealers. This has been such a negative experience for me that it might have finally pushed me away from another corvette of any kind. I am researching some after-market options like ECS but they are my last stance. Callaway is to expensive for what you get, Cartek will not call or email me back, and MTI is really nice to deal with but warranty length/handling and location cancel them out.

And here I thought the poor service problems from the past would have eventually pushed me away from Chevy. I guess I need kicked in the tool box to get the hint.....

Yes, and that -10%+ starts at MSRP not the "adjusted market price" that dealers are hoping to get.

It is convenient for us to bash the dealers when they are trying to get all they can out of new Z's. But, in reality they are always trying to get all they can for any car they sell. The difference is that the final figure is most often below MSRP, not above it.

Also, we must realize that the dealers are hurting. Look around at just about every brand, the lots are full. New car sales have been very slow. Some dealers have to squeeze all the profit they can out of each sale, and the few Z's that they get helps to pay the rent.

Life isn't always fair, nor is manufacture distribution to dealers. Yes, the K_____k, the L_s S______d, and others can sell Z's for MSRP because they will get 30-50 or more of them. Most dealers probably only get 1-3 per year or possibly less. Of course there is a heirarchy and reward system for the dealerships, but that does not help Joe Smuckatelli from Smallville buy his dream car from the local chevy dealer buddy that he went to grade school with.

In the long run, the more "others" pay for housing, and perceived "hot" cars helps the market. If you don't believe this would you rather see the sales prices of new Z's plummet? ( Probably yes until just after you buy yours!)

Give thanks and enjoy the bird of pray, at least throught this turkey day.
