yes i know a very good chevy dealer out in Libertyville IL. It is Bernard Chevy....ask for Kevin, he is the *vette* guy up there. Kevin also is the owner of HP corvettes in vernon hills IL...about 10 minuts from the dealership. He does great work, has been servicing my car since it was new in '01.
I was just about to post a message looking for NW Suburban dealer service. Glad I did a search first. I just picked up an 03 Z on Saturday and was looking for recommendations. I'm in Palatine, so Libertyville isn't extremely far, but I'd love to find a dealer a little closer.
Anyone have experience with any of these dealers?

You may want to take a look at through Stasek Chev in Wheeling. 847-537-7000
I bought my - yet to be delivered Z06 - from them based on their Corvette service and reputation. I understand they have a very extensive Corvette background. MSRP type dealer too.
The local dealer in Lake Bluff was very upfront that the Corvette was something that his dealership sold or serviced a lot of. Just doesn't sell a bunch of them.
Lake Forest sport Cars - just down the street - races a couple in a big way and could be a good source of modification information. They also handle Ferraris and other sports car types.
Thank's for the info. I may try Stasek since it's not too far from me. The closest dealer to me is probably Lattof, but it looks like a really small dealer. Woodfield is not an option since their parts dept. already messed up. I went to get a second key cut, which they cut from the wrong master and it caused the security lock to trip in the car. They told me I had to wait a half an hour for the system to reset before I could use my original key to start the car. It looks like the previous owner got the oil changed at the dealer in Lake Bluff.
I visited the parts departments of a few dealers looking for a 50th Anniversary Key and got a decent feel of if I would want to get my Z serviced there.
Woodfield - Cut key with wrong VATS, car wouldn't start for 30 mins - OUT
Lattoff - Parts guy couldn't even insert the key into the VATS reader. - OUT
Stacek - A sales rep saw me pull up in the Z and walked me back to the parts department. They didn't have they key, but the parts guy read the VATS number so I could buy a key from ebay. Very nice parts department, service area and showroom- MY DEALER OF CHOICE
I wouldn't count out Lattoff out because of there parts dept. it is my understanding that there corvette tech is used by Speed, Inc. for tech support from time to time. I believe his name is Frank.

That's good to hear since they are pretty convenient to my house. Maybe I'll give them a try for an oil change. It was a Saturday afternoon when I stopped by the parts dept., so maybe the guy working wasn't too skilled. You can't beat their tech's name either.
