My previous car was a Mustang GT and I was at the dealership getting something fixed. The dealership was advertising on the radio about all the new Cobras they had and come on down.. So i walked up to group of sales people that were doing nothing. I was dressed in a suit and asked the closest (when I could get their attention) for a test drive in a new Cobra. You would have thought I had asked to something terrible to their kid. The female said they don't give test drives and I would have to fill out a credit form before they would consider it. To say I was pi$$ed off would be an understatement. I had bought a new Tbird Supercoupe and the Mustang there. I said that Chevrolet doesn't treat past customers like this. Subsequently I drove down the street and got an immediate test drive on a Z06 and bought it the same day. About a week later I drove the Z06 to the Ford dealer and parked it prominently in front with all the salespeople ogling. I walked in a asked at the counter to talk to the sales manager which ended up being the guy I was talking to. I asked if I could talk to him about a issue in his office. He said the showroom was his office. So with the show room full of customers and salesmen standing around I recounted the story in a volume loud enough that everyone could hear (it got awful quiet in there). I told him that I had bought several high performance cars from the dealership and they they had lost me permanently as a Ford customer. I walked out amidst stares and got into the Z. As I laid a patch leaving the lot I saw the manager with a lost puppy dog look staring out the glass door. I love my Z06 thank you Ford idiots for driving me to the hottest/best car I have ever owned.

Panzer, that sounds like me, but I dont think its Ford per say, or dealers, its some people are just Idiots

Everytime I go into Criswell for service, I wonder around the showroom where it has new vettes, Lotus, Lambos, and me being 23. long hair, baggy pants and hoody, they give me a weird look and ask me" can I help you!!" in a nasty way, I just Love their attitude, but not as much as their face embarrassed because the whole showroom is listening and I answer " Im just killing time,my Z06 is in for service". Its not that Im a bragger, its that their Ignorance deserves that

i amazingly have never been treated like that.

my friend wanted to check out porsches one day. we were like 18.

ran a mapquest to the three porsche dealers on the island.

i rolled up in the 96 grandsport and every salesman treated us like gold. they unlocked cars for us and spoke with my buddy for a while.

should have asked for a test drive

i used to go to ferrari of long island when i could first drive and spend hours just looking around in awe. which ever salesman was on staff at the time nicely asked if i needed any help. i just said i was looking and he left me be. i didn't dare ask to sit in one at the time. these days i got the lucky hookups to stay after they lock up and sit in everything.

as for the chevy's i never had a problem with any sales people.

those salespeople will get what they deserve for their ignorance in lost comission

You did the right thing. I'm the same age and am getting more relaxed with age. Getting into a confrontation may have felt good, but it could have easily escalating to him being even more rude. This could have led to you knocking him out and spending time @ the local jail. In a professional environment (with witnesses) you did the right thing. You had nothing to gain by getting yourself in trouble over his stupidity.

Now - follow him home and kick his a**. Just kidding...

The guy at the counter said he doesn't have them for me. He said "I have them but I'm holding them for another customer." I asked him his name (not important for story) and he said "yeah that's me." and I said "I just got off the phone with you." he said "and where is your Corvette?" I turned around and pointed to my ride and he looked at me dead in the face and said. "That's not your car I KNOW who owns that car." I said "Oh really?.. where is he at...?" He said it was dropped off here an hour or so ago. The conversation had gotten a bit louder in the room, so by this time there were others watching and listening in. So, in front of all the other service techs and customers waiting in the lobby area... I gave him my ultimate bullshit smirk (yeah right buddy look) & I turned around with my remote in hand, flashed the lights and honked the horn...turned back and said (in a higher vocal tone so everyone could hear me) "NOW GO CUT MY FOCKIN KEYS !!" everyone in the service area was like

lol.. I love it... Thats the perfect way to end his bullshit..

Yeah sometimes people suck!!! We have experienced that from both Ford and Chevy dealerships. It is funny how they prejudge someone because you are young or like my wife and I, we just dress in jeans and t-shirts. When we were searching for our 04 we had a dealership try playing the "lets see what we can do, and where do you want your payments" like this was the first car we have ever purchased!!! After a day of this on the phone my wife got more angry than me (this is unusual) called up another local dealership told them what we wanted, how much we were willing to pay and they had till the end of the day to get the deal done or we go elsewhere. We picked up our new 04 that night around 8:00pm

Kinda like with harleys they should call auto dealers "stealers" It always amazers me how when you are buying their new vehicle it is one of a kind and made of gold. Two weeks later if you wanted to trade it in the same people would look you straight in the face and say "well that vehicle is only worth wholesale"

I have an 04 Harley fatboy with about 1600 miles on it that we have put $11,000 into mods on top of the price of the bike, diamond cut big bore kit, heads, cams, wheels, chrome, stainless brake lines about everything you can think of. I was thinking of trading it for something sportier (new streetrod) the guy tells me he would give me 17K trade in for it. You could see the drool running down his face thinking he was going to get this bike for that price and sell another one at MSRP. I laughed and told him I would just sell it to a friend for that price. He wasn't happy anymore!

Sorry for the rant I also hate dealing with stealers.. I mean dealers.
