As a public service, I believe we should publish a list of dealers known to be gouging the public by charging in excess of MSRP on the C6Z06. I suggest the following:

1. Dealer name and location.
2. Upcharge being applied to MSRP.
3. Any comments from the dealer on why they are charging a premium.

Not only will we know which dealers to avoid, GM will know that we know. While we live in a free country, perhaps we can, in some small way discourage this behaviour.

Anyone else feel this way?

I have always thought that there should be a "no haggle policy" with all new cars. I mean when you are spending this kind of money, the damn song and dance gets old.

I do understand that a good talker can get a better price than in a fixed price market, but it just makes me hate salesmen.

c & o motors in st albans wv.. they told me msrp.. i called a couple weeks ago.. and was told.. "sorry.. my sales manager told me we would only get one this year.. 10k over sticker"
i said.. are you sure.. ?

yup..

well.. lost that sale.. then wend to the honda dealer and bought the s2000.. and love it.

Well...I have to disagree with the "no haggle policy". When I bought mine (2002) I was able to get it at $4500 UNDER sticker. I shopped...I did okay!

Every dealer, every one will take what the market offers. I have been called by every so called reputable dealership selling Vettes at one point or another offering a jump on the Z06 list and a faster delivery if I overpay...no thanks.

My infamous Bill Heard "Dealership" still has a $10K Corvette Market Adjustment on their C6 Coupes & Verts

Can you imagine what it will be on a Z

Couldn't agree with you more. I think individuals on this forum who are fortunate enough to get their C6Z's early and are offering to turn theirs around for a premium over MSRP should be banned from this forum. Sounds more like someone who was only interested in turning a profit from the get go.

I am fortunate enough to get mine at MSRP and my allocation is due in 2 to 3 weeks... you can count on me owning for it a long time after I take delivery of it. I'm not in this for the "profit"...I'm in it for the Corvette experience. My first 'Vette and I'm looking forward to the entire "culture".

Thats a pretty strong reaction. You cant police people that take advantage of the free market system. If someone else is willing to pay more for the car, then thats that.

You're right...nobody can police it... but whatever happened to the true meaning of an "enthusiast"? I guess "free enterprise" got the better of it. :-)
