Honestly, I don't think they actually expect to sell the car at $110k. I've seen a lot of smaller (or rural) dealerships throw a huge markup on a hot vehicle and then be quite content to let it take up space on the showroom floor. Having the car in stock generates traffic at the dealership, which hopefully leads to sales for other vehicles while people are there looking at the hot new item. Eventually, when the hype wears down they'll lower their price and someone will buy the car.
Just got a call from a friend of mine. He saw a Z at a Little Rock dealer and they're asking $110k.
Would you mind telling the dealer ? I would like to add them to my POS list in the back of my head. Mark my words you will be able to buy a 2007 ZO6 for under sticker next year.

Exactly!
Also, some auto dealerships are owned by car enthusiasts too. Leave it on the floor for marketing and draw, then take it out whenever you want. Have an employee shine it up, then put it back on the showroom floor. This is probably better than saying, "it is not for sale". That would really pi$$ people off.
When the seller (dealer) places a figure on a vehicle then that is what it is worth to him/her. If it is worth more than that to someone else they buy it. If not the seller wins, and gets to keep his/her own car. When the vehicle is worth less to the seller, then the offering price gets lowered. It is amazing how many people just don't seem to get it.
Keep selling and buying them at record high figures, it only helps the marque in the long run.
