I went to the largest dealer in my area (Greystoke Chevrolet, Johnson City, TN) and placed an order for a C6Z in early 2005. Did this before fiinding this site and others.
A reliable source has informed me that they only sold few Corvettes last year and no Z's.
The sales person assures me that they have allocation but can't tell me when.
Now wondering if after the first three consensus cycles this dealer will get a car, they have my order entered into the system. I'm not in a rush to get the car but do want one.
I can't advise you on your dealer's ability to deliver but I did a buypower search. First I selected your dealership which shows no Z in stock then clicked search nearby dealerships and found. 14 Z's with 2 at Earnheardt Chevrolet, 4 at Hendrick Chevrolet. Why not order at Earnheardt? 77 miles away. http://www.gmbuypower.com/homePage.b...ge=shopByBrand
Im in the same boat, I ordered through a family member that only sold 2 vettes last year. He has been in contact with GM and has written the car up as sold. GM still hasent given him a firm allocation, but Im not giving up yet.
I would sugest that if you are not in a hurry, wait untill after the first of the year and if your dealer hasnt gotten you an accepted order, then start looking around.
In november the next outlook letter will go out, ask your dealer to see this, then your will know if they have an allocation for you.
I am in the same boat. Not sure if that boat is sinking yet. About three months ago my local small dealer confirmed that they would get one Z , wrote up the order at that time, and then took my deposit and cashed it the next day. I was told by a helpful member that my dealer will not have allocation in the first six months of production. A few days ago I had a "meaningful" chat with the sales rep/sales manager and said give me a price and potential delivery time frame or give me my money back. I really like the dealer and their service group and want to buy from them. However, this is a lot of money and I need some type of assurance that I will eventually get the car even if it is next spring. The wait and money saving part is making my wife delerious with joy but, I am a little more needy than she is.....
My deposit is with this dealer. I've read all the posts in this forum RE: allocation and I'm thinking that after the top three dealer teirs have received their allocations then the dealers that are not "teired" may get allocation. ?true?

That is the impression I also get, but its not quite that simple from how I understand it, there is still some preferance to the top dealers after phase one. I think guys like us are going to be in the dark for a while now. On the up side, if our dealers are unable to get an alocation, we may see the market calm down and be able to go out and get one somewhere else.

I sent a private message to Jdogg on my situation, which is very similar to yours, and it seems that the next outlook letter should tell the whole story. If they have an allocation then, you should know.
Goood luck (to both of us)

I am #2 at Gwatney in Memphis. They sell 35-40 Vettes per year. #1 ordered several weeks ago. I am expecting an allocation in the next 2-3 weeks. Dealer has not required deposit (I have bought 2 other Vette's there). They are selling to me at MSRP at worst. Good dealer as far as I'm concerned! Very honest and won't tell you something that isn't true. You are pretty far away (500 miles) but if you run out of patience with your dealer...

There are some deals being made where a small dealer won't get an allocation but is purchasing for their customers through a dealer that is tier one or two. I guess they each take a cut.
