Well, I picked up my Z06 from Rick about 1-1/2 weeks ago, and so far, so good! I just wanted to let this forum know that Rick was very helpful and I give him props for a couple of reasons:
1.) Rick was courteous from the first time I met him. At every other dealership, I was basically snickered at because I was looking at Z06's. It seemed as if alot of dealers acted indifferently towards me due to my age (25 years old), as if they were wasting their time quotingmy trade-in and pricing a new Z06.
2.) Rick knew I was torn between buying a used vs. new Z06. The used car salesman (George) and Rick did not pressure me to go either way, but clearly left it up to me. That is what sales is about - Consumer choice!
3.) Every other dealership I went to (about 6 dealerships with Z06's on the lot locally) would not negotiate below my supplier discount. As many have seen Rick's advertisement of $9800, this stayed true to his word.
4.) Les Stanford offered me top dollar for my trade in (about 3k more than all other dealerships), although I still went the private sales route.
Overall, I'd recommend Rick and Les Stanford to all on-the-border Z06 buyers. Go out and buy one before they are all gone!!!! This is my first Vette, and it was a great experience. Thanks Rick!

It's always nice to read stories like this.
I've been completely satisfied with the sales, service and friendly personnel at Stanford Chevrolet.....I have my C6 coupe and C6 Z06 ordered from there also!

Pat,
Thanks so much for the kind words. Enjoy and be safe.
Nice to hear stories like that, there are still honest dealers out there. The only problem is, they far and few in between anymore.
Congrats Pat and Rick

As long as there is at least 1 honest dealer and I know where to find him, Thats all I need. When and if I decide to get a C6
I will be getting it from Rick at Les Stanford.
Glad to hear you are enjoying your new Z. That is how dealers get good business with honesty and treating their customers right.
How does the Z compare to your 98 WS6? I want to own a LS1 first but thinking about jumping straight to the Z. Is that legal?
The WS6 was no slouch. It put down 313hp/330lb-ft at the wheels bone stock and ran consistent 13.3's...BUTTTT..the Z06.. night and day difference. Much more refined...smooth acceleration, great handling, and great braking, even from 120+ mph. I'd skip the LS1 and go straight to the Z06, if funds permit...
What is weird is that I think I actually got more looks from the WS6...the hood said it all...but I would take the Z06 over the WS6 any day of the week...but I had to get one to feel more grown up (just turned 25 and having my quarter-life crisis )
I went to a local dealer two days ago to check out a C5 convertible for the wife. The sticker was 54K and change. Shook hands with the salesman and checked out the car, asked him how much he was willing to take off the sticker. His reply " Why would I take anything off the sticker when I can sell it to a dealer in Florida for $2000. over sticker?" Then he walked away taking his lousy attitude with him. The car had been in the showroom for four months allready. Doesn't sound like the Florida dealers are beating on his door. But the point is that there are so few good salesmen who are looking to help a customer out that it's great to hear about the few who are. Good job Rick!
By the way, the dealer is TEAM motors in Johnstown Pa. Haven't bought a car in Johnstown since 1977.
Wow thanks Les and everyone else. I do try very hard to make everyone as happy as possible. I am very proud of the fact that I have a perfect 4.0 Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) with GM and now have over 600 Corvette owners. This forum has had a great deal to do with that. Thanks for all of the support.
