Traded in the '01 SW for an '02 EB over the weekend! The transaction was the best I ever had! And not just because the end result was a brand new EB Z.
I called Anthona Guma at Maxie Friday night at 5:30 pm and had worked out a great deal with him by 7:30 pm. He was a genuine Corvette freak that went to bat for me with Maxie to get me a FAIR

trade in value for my car and also a great deal on the new EB.

I could not be happier with the transaction. Just don't ask Anthony for directions or time estimates!
As you can see, I'm is Sarasota, FL and Maxie is just outside of Atlanta. And that has the makings of a great road trip!

Saturday morning Nikki and I piled in the '01 and started driving the 8 hour drive to Maxie (could have done it in seven if there weren't all those Cracker Barrels along the way).

No tickets on the way there! Because the trip took longer than anticipated, we arrived at Maxie at shutting time on a Saturday night. Not one person uttered a word about the time. They made us feel like it was 3 pm on a Wednesday and we were the first car they ever sold. I can't say enough about Anthony and the gang at Maxie. I'd also like to thank my good friend Jeff for introducing me to Anthony.
We were in and out in less than an hour and looking for a hotel and some ale to celebrate.

Anthony invited us to go out with he and his wife but after all the driving that day, we declined. He insisted that he show us the way to a good hotel close to the interstate so that we would have an easy time out in the morning. He drove in front of us (only cuz I let him and he did know the way

) for almost an hour to a nice Marriott right off the highway.
Now for the drive home during break-in. Very handy that we are just over 500 miles away from home.

On the way we run into a fellow MY brutha. This just happened to coincide with our 2750 rpm cycle of the break in.

You do the math. Unfortunately that is also the time we went over a hill to find a nice southern trooper. At least we managed to slow to 91. Oh well, only one ticket in almost 1200 miles isn't bad (but $303 lighter now).
So, the moral of the story is if you want a good deal on a Vette, call Anthony at Maxie and he will make it happen. And drive to pick it up if you can, it was a blast!
Please see my upcoming post on the differences of the '02 compared to the '01. There are a lot.
