Not my dealer!

Most of the Chevy dealers in my area (Boston) are equally
incompetent when it comes to Vettes, never mind Z06's.
After being jerked around by a few, I ordered the Z06 from
Reedman-Toll in Langhorne, PA. They were TOTALLY
professional, and mine was the 39th C6 Z06 they had sold!
The other idiots (like your dealer) are used to selling
Cavaliers and Aveos to barely financeable losers....

Couple months back my wife and I drove to my local Chevy dealer in our C5 vert wanting to check out a C6 vert. So comes time for the test drive, the salesman had a very hard time letting both my wife and I go for the test drive without the salesman, even though I handed him my keys to my C5 in case he had any worries. He had to get the owner to come and OK it, but also told us not to put too many miles on it and to be back within a couple minutes. When we came back they had their "corvette expert" meet us and go over the car. Everything was fine and dandy till he tells us how balanced the car is because in 2005 they started putting the trannys in the back of the car. I told him that my C5 also has that option and he couldnt believe it, he went underneath my car to make sure, then he went back inside.

Later that day we went to test drive a new SC430, since my wife has always like them. The dealer couldnt get the keys in our hands fast enough and told us to take our time with the car. This is a car that stickers 15K more than the C6 vert and funny how they didnt have to come with us for the drive. I own 2 other Lexus's and their service is SO far above anything I ever experienced from GM.

Fortunately my experiences with GM service in my area have been positive, but you are right about Lexus. I've always said everybody else should take lessons from them. I had an LS400 and was never ever treated better by anybody. Appointments were always prompt and on time, and they always returned the car washed and immaculate. My experience so far with BMW has been similar. It's a pity that GM and GM dealers do not seem to grasp that you deserve the same sort of treatment, especially when you are buying a $75,000 car.

I agree, as stated above, it's all about respect. The salesmen that treat their chosen profession with an understanding of long term growth and realize the benefits of building relationships with the customer will be very successful. Those that don't, well they will continue to fulfill the sterotypical role of the car salesmen.

What about the sales guy you dealt with previously ?

How about finding a new dealer ?

Not all dealers are the same - I choose to patronize those who "get it."

BTW - I bought my 04 GTO from Matt Cross at Cross Motors. Look him up if you need a GMC / Pontiac.
